But I'll do it again in a heartbeat!Īs we approached the fields, we didn't really see them, and once we got off the main trail and into the berry bushes, we were amazed. I found myself having to sit on the sidelines for a bit, multiple times to relieve the pressure on my joints. Walking out to the open fields was a bit of a trek for me, as I have bad knees and lower back issues, but I carried a small folding stool so I could sit as needed. Most of the berries were so plump and ready for picking that they burst in our mouths. We could eat them by the bucket load and not get bored of the sweet, juicy flavor. My grandson LOVES blueberries as much as I do. It was a warm, sunny day and we spent somewhere between 2 and 3 hours there, picking berries (and tasting a few as we went) and talking and just enjoying the day.
